Treadmill Jogging
Jogs on a moving belt after releasing handrails
This machine-based cardio movement primarily targets the quadriceps while engaging the glutes and hamstrings to build endurance. It offers a controlled environment for improving cardiovascular health with reduced impact compared to outdoor running.
HOW TO DO IT
- Step onto the side rails and start the belt at a walking speed.
- Hold the handrails briefly while finding your balance on the moving deck.
- Release the rails and begin jogging with a mid-foot strike.
- Maintain an upright torso with your gaze fixed forward.
- Pump your arms naturally at your sides to match your leg cadence.
- Gradually reduce speed to a walk before stepping off the machine.
COMMON MISTAKES
- Gripping the handrails tightly, which alters natural posture.
- Overstriding and landing heavily on the heels.
- Looking down at the console instead of straight ahead.
- Bouncing excessively due to stiff legs.
TIPS
- Land softly on the mid-foot to absorb shock efficiently.
- Keep your core braced to prevent excessive lower back arching.
- Relax your shoulders away from your ears to reduce tension.
SAFETY
- Always clip the safety key to your clothing to stop the belt if you fall.
- Step fully onto the side rails before increasing speed or stopping completely.
