How to do it
- Stand on the center of the resistance band with feet hip-width apart.
- Loop each end of the band over the bar ends, outside where your hands will go.
- Grasp the EZ bar with a narrow, underhand grip.
- Pin your elbows firmly against your ribs.
- Curl the bar upward until it reaches shoulder height.
- Squeeze your biceps hard at the top of the movement.
- Lower the bar slowly to the start while controlling the band tension.
Common mistakes
- Swinging the hips to generate momentum.
- Allowing elbows to flare out away from the torso.
- Dropping the weight quickly instead of controlling the descent.
- Rolling the shoulders forward during the curl.
Safety
Ensure the band is securely attached to the bar ends before lifting.
Check the band for cracks or wear to prevent snapping.
Tips
- Keep your wrists straight to maximize forearm engagement.
- Drive your elbows down to prevent them from drifting forward.
- Focus on pulling with your pinkies to activate the outer bicep.
