How to do it
- Stand between two low pulleys with a handle in each hand.
- Cross your arms so the right hand holds the left cable.
- Keep a slight bend in your elbows and core braced.
- Pull the handles out to the sides until elbows reach shoulder height.
- Lower the weights slowly back to the starting position.
Common mistakes
- Swinging the body to generate momentum.
- Raising the arms higher than shoulder level.
- Locking the elbows completely straight.
- Shrugging the traps instead of isolating the delts.
Tips
- Lead the movement with your elbows, not your hands.
- Imagine pouring water out of a pitcher at the top.
- Keep your shoulders down away from your ears.
