Works
Shoulders Side Delts
How to do it
- Stand on the center of the band with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grasp the handles with palms facing your thighs.
- Keep a slight bend in your elbows and raise arms out to the sides.
- Lift until your hands reach shoulder height.
- Lower the handles slowly back to the starting position.
Common mistakes
- Using momentum to swing the arms upward.
- Shrugging the traps instead of isolating the delts.
- Raising the arms higher than shoulder level.
- Locking the elbows completely straight.
Safety
Check the band for nicks, tears or worn spots before each use.
Tips
- Lead the movement with your elbows, not your hands.
- Pour an imaginary pitcher of water at the top of the lift.
- Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears.
