VARIATIONS
Alternating Leg Swing
Right and left legs alternate forward and back
This dynamic movement increases hamstring flexibility and hip mobility while warming up the lower body. It prepares the legs for running or lifting by actively stretching the posterior chain.
HOW TO DO IT
- Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides.
- Swing your right leg forward smoothly until you feel a gentle stretch.
- Allow the right leg to swing back naturally behind your body.
- Immediately swing your left leg forward with the same controlled momentum.
- Continue alternating legs for the desired number of repetitions.
COMMON MISTAKES
- Rounding the lower back to reach higher.
- Bending the standing knee excessively for stability.
- Swinging too fast and losing control of the limb.
TIPS
- Keep your torso upright and avoid leaning backward to compensate.
- Let momentum build gradually rather than forcing a high kick immediately.
- Engage your core to maintain balance throughout the movement.
