  • Triceps
  • Back

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and knees soft.
  2. Interlace your fingers and press your palms toward the ceiling.
  3. Reach your arms straight up while keeping shoulders down.
  4. Tuck your tailbone slightly to stabilize the lower back.
  5. Hold the position while breathing deeply into the ribcage.

Common mistakes

  • Shrugging shoulders up toward the ears.
  • Over-arching the lower back excessively.
  • Holding breath instead of breathing deeply.

Tips

  • Drive the heels down to ground the stance.
  • Imagine reaching through the ceiling to maximize length.
  • Keep the ribs knitted down to prevent arching.
