How to do it
- Position feet wide with toes pointing outward at forty-five degrees.
- Place the kettlebell on the floor between your feet, in line with your midfoot.
- Hinge hips back and grab the kettlebell handle with both hands.
- Brace your core and ensure your spine remains neutral.
- Push the floor away to extend your hips and knees.
- Return the weight to the ground under control.
Common mistakes
- Allowing the lower back to round under load.
- Letting the knees collapse inward during ascent.
- Leaning too forward instead of hinging hips.
Safety
Maintain a neutral spine to protect lumbar discs.
Do not hyperextend your back at the top position.
Tips
- Drag the bell up along your shins.
- Push your knees out to match your toe direction.
- Keep your armpits over the handle during the pull.
