How to do it
- Stand facing the cable machine with feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grasp the straight bar with an underhand grip at hip level.
- Keep your elbows tucked firmly against your sides.
- Curl the bar upward toward your shoulders while exhaling.
- Squeeze your biceps hard at the top of the movement.
- Lower the bar slowly to the starting position.
Common mistakes
- Swinging the hips or leaning back to lift the bar.
- Letting the elbows drift forward during the curl.
- Dropping the weight too quickly on the way down.
- Using a grip that is too wide or too narrow.
Tips
- Keep your wrists straight to avoid unnecessary strain.
- Keep your elbows fixed so only your forearms move.
- Maintain an upright torso to prevent swinging the weight.
