How to do it
- Hold a kettlebell in each hand at the rack position.
- Brace your core and press one kettlebell straight overhead.
- Lock out the elbow fully at the top of the movement.
- Lower the weight back to the rack under control.
- Immediately press the opposite kettlebell while holding the first.
Common mistakes
- Leaning away from the pressing arm to cheat the weight up.
- Failing to fully lock out the elbow at the top.
- Letting the non-working bell drift forward or drop.
Safety
If you lose control of a bell overhead, step away and let it fall rather than trying to catch it.
Tips
- Keep ribs down to prevent excessive arching in the lower back.
- Punch through the ceiling rather than pushing slightly forward.
- Maintain a tight grip on the stationary bell to stabilize the torso.
