VARIATIONS
Bodyweight Skullcrusher
This compound pushing movement prioritizes triceps development while engaging the chest and shoulders. It builds upper body pressing strength using only bodyweight.
HOW TO DO IT
- Place hands together on the floor under your chest.
- Extend legs back and tighten the core to form a straight line from head to heels.
- Lower your body until the chest nearly touches the floor while keeping elbows tucked.
- Press through the palms to extend the arms and return to the starting position.
- Exhale during the upward push and inhale while lowering.
COMMON MISTAKES
- Flaring elbows out wide instead of tucking them.
- Allowing the hips to sag or pike upward.
- Stopping the descent too high without full range of motion.
TIPS
- Keep elbows tucked close to the ribs throughout the movement.
- Maintain a rigid plank position to prevent hip sagging.
- Drive through the center of the palm for stability.
