Butt Kicks
Heels kick up toward glutes at a rapid, rhythmic pace while standing in place.
A cardio drill that elevates heart rate while dynamically stretching the quadriceps and engaging the hamstrings and calves.
HOW TO DO IT
- Stand tall with your core engaged and arms bent at 90 degrees.
- Kick your right heel up toward your glutes quickly.
- Switch legs immediately, bringing the left heel up to meet the glutes.
- Continue alternating heels at a rapid, rhythmic pace.
- Pump your arms in opposition to your legs to maintain momentum.
COMMON MISTAKES
- Leaning too far forward from the waist.
- Letting the knees drift too far ahead of the toes.
- Landing heavily on the heels instead of the forefoot.
- Swinging the arms across the body instead of straight forward.
TIPS
- Focus on speed rather than height of the kick.
- Stay light on the balls of your feet.
- Keep your torso upright and avoid leaning forward.
