Kettlebell Goblet Squat
Descends until elbows touch the inside of the knees.
This compound movement targets the quadriceps while reinforcing an upright torso and deep hip mobility. Holding the load at the chest acts as a counterbalance to help maintain proper spinal alignment during the descent.
HOW TO DO IT
- Hold the kettlebell by the horns close to your upper chest.
- Stand with feet slightly wider than shoulder-width and toes angled out.
- Keep your elbows tucked in and your chest proud.
- Break at the hips and knees to lower your body straight down.
- Descend until your elbows touch the inside of your knees.
- Drive through your mid-foot to return to the standing position.
COMMON MISTAKES
- Letting the elbows drop away from the body.
- Collapsing the knees inward during the descent.
- Rising onto the toes instead of driving through heels.
- Rounding the lower back at the bottom of the squat.
TIPS
- Push your knees outward with your elbows at the bottom.
- Keep your gaze fixed on a point slightly above eye level.
- Maintain tension in your core throughout the entire rep.
