Kettlebell Sumo Squat

Uses a wide stance with toes pointed out to hold a kettlebell.

This strength movement targets the quadriceps and hips by utilizing a wide stance to maintain an upright torso. It builds lower body power while improving hip mobility.

HOW TO DO IT

  1. Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width and toes pointed out.
  2. Hold one kettlebell with both hands at chest level.
  3. Brace your core and push your hips back to descend.
  4. Lower until your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  5. Drive through your heels to return to the starting position.

COMMON MISTAKES

  • Letting the knees cave inward during descent.
  • Rounding the lower back while holding the weight.
  • Lifting the heels off the ground at the bottom.

TIPS

  • Push your knees outward to track over your toes.
  • Keep your chest lifted throughout the entire movement.
  • Drive through the mid-foot for maximum stability.
